About

Marja Vongerichten is a chef, author, and TV personality. Alongside three-star Michelin Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, she hosted "Kimchi Chronicles," a PBS TV series chronicling food, culture, and travel in South Korea. She wrote a companion cookbook, "Kimchi Chronicles: Korean Cooking for an American Kitchen." Marja opened her first Korean restaurant with Jean-Georges in Shanghai, called CHI-Q, which was awarded Best Asian Restaurant by Time Out Magazine for two consecutive years. She is the co-founder of Marja's Original Asian sauces, sold exclusively at the Tin Building by Jean-Georges.

Marja pursues her passion for cooking by traveling internationally for public speaking and food-related events. She is Amerasian, born in Korea to a young Korean woman and an American soldier, and was adopted and raised by American parents in Northern Virginia. She is passionate about bringing Korean food and culture to the spotlight.
